After about the 4th or 5th image in a document, adding additional images, even with all previous images anchor locked, they’ll start skittering around. The best way I’ve found, which I don’t like, is to insert a single row/column table and insert the picture into the table.

Only certain versions of Word support importing a PDF document, even then, the formatting isn’t perfect. It would be easier to just edit the PDF file directly, and remove the images by hand, on those pages. This seems a lot of work. This also is an exact duplicate of an answer already suggest, just more vague, and less helpful.

I don’t want to go to all the trouble to ask our IT dept for CC 2014 and resintall everything unless I know it will help. The problem only appears with certain PDF files (like the one I linked) but I have reason to believe that this is a bug in Illustrator and not a problem with the PDF itself.
