My answer has recently been to convert the logo into DWG using adobe illustrator and copy – paste it in. You can use the fill tool to colour it in. This way you don’t have to deal with nasty images linked to your drawings. Dan
What we need to do is convert an image to dwg lines, and for that we can use an Autodesk product called Raster Design. If you’re an Inventor user you probably have not heard of it – it allows the conversion of a raster image (like a bitmap or jpeg – pixels, not vector lines) inside AutoCAD to dwg curves that can be imported into Inventor. And if you have installed the Product Design Suite
You can even convert these pixels into AutoCAD entities for editing using you normal AutoCAD commands and then when you need to present the edits in a PDF, you can change the AutoCAD entities back into the pixelated form so that they match the rest of the image.

As far as I know you cannot convert an JPEG image into usable AutoCAD data. You can import an place it as an image but it will neither be in scale nor usable for e.g. measuring. It will simply be an image placed within CAD.
If the PDF was originally created using CAD software, the linework in the PDF will also be snappable. This little trick has saved me countless hours when trying to trace PDF files in AutoCAD to draw up quick details.
