28/06/2017 · I’m trying to convert some figures I’ve made in inkscape to flattened 300dpi tiffs for publication, but have been unsuccessful so far. I originally submitted the figures by exporting as 300dpi .png files then converting to .tiffs with image magick, but those were deemed to be too low quality.
PDF documents appear the same on different computers, can be protected with passwords, and are well suited for storage in electronic archives. To save your text in PDF: Click the arrow next to the Save button on the main toolbar and then click Save as PDF Document… .
Open your PDF file if the file did not open automatically after saving it. As you are viewing your PDF file In Adobe Reader, go to Preview / Preferences / PDF. Unselect Smooth text and line art.
Saving your image in particular formats won’t turn an average image amazing. It will, however, preserve the quality of your image, and ease the process of sharing your image with the world. Don’t settle for saving all your images in JPG anymore!

As a PDF, a Photoshopped PDF in this form is really two pieces — the embedded PSD file, and the viewable PDF one — which can even be set to a different resolution when saving. So you could have a 100 ppi image appear in a PDF viewer, but if you open that PDF directly in Photoshop, it will pop into Pshop fine with full resolution. However, you can adjust the padding (vert and horizontal) so that the image dimensions PLUS the padding are equal to the cell size, without the need to reinvent your whole report.
