Why does the “white” part of an image turn “black” after saving? Ask Question 4. I’ve noticed that sometimes when we save an image and open it with Adobe Photoshop, the “white” background turns “black”. For example, when I view this image using Chrome, this is what I see:
I am using adobe Photoshop CS5, I am transforming my picture into black and white via “Calculations” and then i apply “Shadows and Highlights” filter.
@ChristineCooper Best option I know for OS X is to download the image, then open, then delete original. It’s as “easy” as dragging the image to a folder or Desktop (which saves as a file), then dragging that file onto Photoshop in the Dock, or into an open Photoshop document.
